Jeff Bezos' amazing space flight in a cardboard rocket ship

Billionaire Jeff Bezos flew in space today. 

Bezos’ company Blue Origin launched Bezos and friends into space, making history for many things, none more than his spacecraft constructed 100% from reclaimed cardboard Amazon shipping boxes.  Bezos told our Renegade News space bureau reporter that he is 100% committed to green. Skeptics think he was referring to the color of money, while environmentalists are hopeful he’s thinking about the planet.

New Shepard's launch went off without a glitch. As the spacecraft headed for space, tracking software showed 'in route' and changed to ‘delivered’ when the capsule touched down back on earth.

Boeing 737C19 Retooled and Ready for CoronaVirus

Boeing analyzed the COVID-19 situation closely and took prudent measures to ensure the health and safety of passengers traveling on their planes.

The new 737C19 minimum of six feet spacing between all seats addresses seating concerns. Earbuds, inflight entertainment consoles and snacks will undergo thorough cleaning before every flight.

While these measures are temporary and aimed to prevent the spread of the virus, do not expect Boeing or the airlines to just give more legroom on the new configuration of planes. Renegade News travel intern reported it's like flying in a cargo plane.


All cabin space between passengers will be used for freight. Legroom will be minimal and seat reclining will be obstructed by shipping containers. Overhead compartments are removed.

Travelers are urged to exercise caution and take all appropriate health and safety measures, in coordination with the CDC and WHO.

Due to the coach cabin only having 14 seats, expect ticket prices to be 4000% higher than flights with a classic configuration.

Google self-driving minivan, don't get left behind

Google’s Self-Driving Minivan Could Give You Back Your Life

Who chose the minivan? Key players from Google, the Divide by Zero Parent Teacher Association and Fiat Chrysler were locked in a room until they decided on the right vehicle. When they emerged with their great product idea, it was a self-driving minivan, not quite the Homermobile we expected, but close.

Wait, but why a minivan?  Because the PTA went in demanding a mini-van and nobody has ever won an argument with the PTA, not even brilliant minds of Google or Chrysler.  Not ultra-sexy but there are attractive features that led them to use a minivan. Compared to early rumors of a self-driving Nissan 370Z, the Chrysler van packs in a ton of features, leaving a load of of room for a dozen screaming kids and Google’s tech equipment.

So at this point, unless you have a couple of kids or wore those ugly Google Glass contraptions in public, chances are an unmanned Google mini-van won't win you over. 

Already dubbed a DREAM CAR! This "Google Mobile" lets you sleep late, have a mimosa brunch, and take a nap while the minivan drives the kids to those insanely early morning activities.  Before you bite into a bagel, your kids are already half-way to soccer or little league! But will the kids be safe in that weird driverless vehicle? Yup, this car comes with Google’s longstanding goal of working with partners “to bring this technology into the world safely.”

Look out world, because all the old school bells and whistles of the traditional American auto manufacturer have been tossed aside. Forget the crayon box and floor mats and think technology and HVAC. The Divide by Zero PTA spoke up for the demands of today’s parents. 

Your kids won't cry for juice because the van has 3 flush mounted arrays of 12 USB outlets ready to power whatever the challenge, and unlimited juice. The brochure shows USB arrays are standard features.

You swear you will never do it again, but it will happen. That dreaded long drive. Whether an hour or 3,000 miles cross country. You will love the built in NFC passenger recognition system, that sets individual climate zones automatically to each passengers preference, for up to eight passengers.

You love your family but the screams got to stop. The PTA knows all about that which is why the sound dampening upgrade kit may be the most popular feature on the vehicle. The kit includes custom soundproofing, sound absorption and noise reduction materials. Peace and quiet.!

An upgrade that is not standard, but why not? You're already spending over $100,000 on a car you won't drive. Think about this on that cross-country drive. Upgraded HG vans have granite countertops, and a Viking 7 Series oven with ducted exhaust fan that gets everyone fed, in style and comfort.

The self-driving vans are expected to be released to a limited test group over the summer and road-ready by September.  Look for free in vehicle wifi in early 2016. The basic model retails for $129,900, but so worth it.

The pros and cons of FedEx using cheaper alien technology

The shift in consumer preference toward slower/lower-cost delivery options have contributed to the birth of 51Ex, a budget delivery option introduced by FedEx that possibly uses Area51 alien technology. 51Ex transports packages from a local source point directly to a delivery truck already en route to the residential consumer. As good as this sounds, the science fiction solution carries risks, mainly due the technology failing 40% of the time, and most of the successful teleportations land up as an unidentifiable mangled package. But consumers are readily accepting late and lost as the tradeoff for cheap or free shipping on their ecommerce transactions.

Let's consider the risk of late & lost as the new norm, and why it matters to FedEx. 51Ex has three principal risks, each related to using of alien tech for delivery:

Tracking 

There is no information available on the transportation technology being used, some say it doesn't even exist.  Since Area51's primary purpose is publicly unknown, and secretive in nature, traditional package tracking is unavailable, which could be a cause concern for the consumer.

Quality control

Second, ensuring customer satisfaction is a key component of protecting the brand name of FedEx. The company worked hard to set the standard for customer expectations in the shipping industry, and the 51Ex "Late Lost" tag could bleed over and create negative backlash on established premium delivery options.

With the value of global trade now at more than $18 trillion, FedEx has continued transforming its business to better align with projected worldwide population and economic growth. One key to that has been the acquisition of transportation companies that allow them to directly serve specific markets and provide better service, but the new 51Ex may be here before its time.  Essentially, packages are scanned, encoded, dematerialized to anti-matter, teleported, rematerialized and delivered anywhere in the world, the same day, usually within 30 minutes. But 40% of parcels are lost in vaporware.  It's somewhat concerning for investors that FedEx will rely on secret imperfect alien technology risking consumer deliveries.

Increasing competition

As the world we live in continues to change, so does FedEx. With that in mind, you can be sure the spirit of FedEx innovation is hard at work delivering a brighter, better future for the universe. But when FedEx reported that 51Ex volume declined 7% in the second quarter, there was no explanation. Critics claim the service sucks, and free isn't going to win in the long run.  As of today, quality of 51Ex remains uncertain and a growing concern of consumers.

The takeaway

51Ex carries risks due to this secret partnership, but the service does not contribute a significant amount to the total profitability for FedEx.  As such, FedEx could probably stomach some take a wait-and-see approach to acceptability.

The question for FedEx is whether they want to carry on increasing shipping volumes, and carry the risks outlined above, or rein in volume growth by trying to shift retailers from cheapest way to their traditional, more reliable, Earth based offerings.

Science and Logistics state that management teams shouldn't focus too much on expanding their budget brands, and instead try to maximize profitability and maintaining high quality in their ground operations via being selective in their acquisitions and the partnerships they form.

Schlockcharge is the first mobile application to power a Tesla totally from a cell phone.   As of today, over 200,000 motorists are charging their electric cars via iOS and Android in Europe. More than 11 million kilowatts have been transferred from mobile device to Tesla and nearly 1.19 million liters of gas have been offset.

The technology to charge electric cars via mobile represents a new milestone in the expansion of the electric European car network. In Germany, Schlockcharge has been certified to work in Cologne, Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Munich. In the Netherlands, the app is still being beta tested and expected authorized to charge cars from Amsterdam to Cologne and Brussels by November.

Schlockcharge lead product manager, Hans Van Houten, says that “By the end of 2016, 60 percent of all smartphone users who own electric cars [in these 4 countries], will be charging their autos via a mobile application” and goes on to say, “Shlockcharge is substantially more powerful than any charging technology to date, with the exception of a conventional cable to power source, and the typical car will use 120 kilowatts of DC (Direct Current) power per charge originated in the Smartphone.”

Astoundingly, all smartphones we tested for this article, including iPhone 5, iPhone 6 and Samsung Galaxy Note Edge,  fully charged a Tesla battery with under 10% life remaining in under 20 minutes. And if two phones running the App are plugged into a car, in tandem, it will fully charge a dead car battery in under 10 minutes.

Van Houten says a full release of the App across Europe is expected by year's end and introduced to the United States and Canadian markets in 2016.

New York Times Wins Five Pulitzer Prizes

NEW YORK — The New York Times won five Pulitzer Prizes in journalism on Monday, the second-most in its history. It was a bittersweet victory for The Times as all five writers had been laid off their awards are being added to 101 other Pulitzers that were won over the years, the first awarded in 1917 and being sold on eBay to pay late utility bills.

Other icons of industry in New York are fighting the economy too, The Empire State Building has assessed a $5 look up zone around the skyscraper on 34 Street to anyone walking while looking up. According to building officials, it is a nominal fee and only applies to a small percentage of passersby.

The New York MTA is implementing a pay as you go fee, deputizing subway break dancers to collect $1 surcharge per passenger or walk. This will not apply during rush hours or after 2am.

And the familiar yellow cabs are going high tech. If you ride a yellow cab, it's going to cost you to turn down the volume on the in-cab video screens. $1 for every db, up to $5 for mute.

Eastern Airlines introduces SCP Planes

Budget minded Eastern Airlines began a new service which should reduce costs by as much as $56 million a month. Eastern is immediately replacing their fleet of DC-9 planes with the more efficient Snap, crackle, Pop (or SCP) planes. On command these planes, like the name implies will do the following:

• Snap into to separate pieces, allowing passengers to exit in a efficient and orderly manner
• Have break-way engine mounts, which Crackle, thus allowing fast and easy engine replacements
• And finally, Pop. If danger is detected by on board computers, the entire plane will explode

Eastern is very proud of its new fleet and predicts the SCP planes, exclusive to the airline, will increase ridership and fill the skies in the months to come.
